Roller Rink User Agreements
We here to have fun of course, but remember that roller skating is a potentially hazardous activity which can result in injury. Whilst every effort is made to ensure a safe experience for all users, there remains the risk of accidents even through normal use of the rink and equipment.
All users must agree to the following terms before wearing roller skate equipment and entering the rink. You can download a PDF at the foot of the page.
By using roller skate equipment and/or entering the roller rink you agree to be bound by the following terms:

Please read the following terms carefully before purchasing tickets to enter the roller rink. If you do not agree to the terms of use, do not purchase tickets for entry and do not enter the roller rink.
Tilt Events Ltd is hereafter referred to as The Company.
Roller Rink User Agreement
- Rink users must be aware that roller skating is a potentially hazardous activity which can result in injury. Whilst every effort is made to ensure a safe experience for all users, there remains the risk of accidents even through normal use of the rink and equipment.
- The Company accepts no responsibility for accidents, injuries, loss or damage howsoever caused to rink users that may occur whilst taking part in any roller skating session or event, which include contact with venue structures, the actions of other rink users, or any impedances or obstacles not caused by The Company’s property or procedures.
- By purchasing rink admission for multiple persons, the purchaser agrees to the terms contain herein on behalf of all users admitted.
- The Company agrees to provide a safe environment for roller skating, high quality equipment in good condition, entry and exit systems to ensure safe transition between and within sessions, rink safety marshalls at a ratio of no fewer than 1 per 25 users, as well as rink management safety staff.
Roller Rink Terms of Use
- Rink users must be at least 16 years old to use the roller rink unaccompanied.
- Persons under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Adults are not required to use the rink but must remain in a position of oversight.
- Children must be at least 6 years old to use the rink.
- The Company supplies roller skates from size UK11/EU29 (children) up to UK12/EU46 (adult). Rink users are responsible for requesting the appropriate size for their feet or children’s feet. Please check that we are able to cater for all rink users before purchasing. The Company takes no responsibility for inconvenience or injury caused by requesting the wrong size.
- All persons under 16 years of age must wear the full set of personal protective equipment (PPE), consisting of helmet, wristguards, knee pads and elbow pads. Those refusing or failing to wear any item listed will not be admitted onto the rink. No exceptions are made for those who are experienced roller skaters, nor those who are prevented from wearing protective items by sensory difficulties or other additional needs, the latter instance being in compliance with Sections 19 & 21 of the Disability Dicriminations Act 1995.
- While not compulsory for persons 16 years old or above, all users are strongly advised to wear the full set of personal protective equipment (PPE), consisting of helmet, wristguards, knee pads and elbow pads. This equipment is made available for all, regardless of age or experience. Persons 16 years old or above who do not make use of protective equipment agree to assume all risks of injury associated with engaging in roller skating without protection.
- Rink users must leave their own footwear with the skate exchange team before they may be given their roller skates and PPE. They must return their roller skates and all PPE before being given their own footwear.
- Rink users must be wearing socks in order to obtain roller skates and to enter the rink.
- We cannot store large bags or personal items during your time on the rink. Bags smaller than A4 size may be stored with footwear at the skate exchange.
- All users agree to the rink code of conduct, given below and on signage within the roller skate equipment hire area.
- Users agree to comply with instructions and any measures taken by all rink staff, both routinely and in circumstances where increased risk is identified, including instructions to enter and exit the rink, to change direction of movement, to adjust for other rink users, and to cease and desist from behaviour deemed unsafe.
- General health is assumed for all users, so if you have any worries, you must consult your GP or a health professional before engaging in hazardous activities such as roller skating. Conditions that may cause increased risk for roller skating include, but are not limited to, brittle bones, high blood pressure, heart problems, joint injuries, back or neck problems, ankle or knee weakness, or any other musculoskeletal condition that could be aggravated. Additionally, those who are, or suspect they are, pregnant, should not use the roller rink.
- Rink users agree that all are responsible for their own safety and the safety of fellow rink users, and that they may be personally liable or reportable for any injury or harm caused by behaviour deemed reckless or dangerous.
Roller Rink Rules of Conduct
- Rink users must read safety information provided by staff and in signage prior to entering the rink.
- Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring that persons in their care are in a position to understand and comply with safety information and rules. Parents/guardians are responsible for the conduct and actions of those in their care.
- Maintain safe movement around the rink: follow the same given direction around; no sitting or lying on the floor; no pushing or playing own group games; no fast, reckless behaviour, or skating in a manner that may jeopardise the safety of others.
- If you have never skated before, or require help, ask for support and advice from one of our qualified marshalls before attempting to skate. Our team are always willing to give very effective help and tutorials.
- Do not drink alcohol or take drugs before skating as these greatly affect your balance. Anybody who arrives in an intoxicated state will denied entry to the rink or removed.
- Do not engage in disorderly conduct or offensive language.
- Do not sit on, or hang off, the rink railings or DJ booth frame.
- Do not consume food, drink or chewing gum on the rink.
- Do not enter the rink in shoes, with the exception of parents supporting young children.
- Any inline or quad skates brought by users of their own must be clean and in good repair. There should be no missing wheels or sharp edges. The Company’s staff reserve the right to inspect equipment before entry to the rink is allowed. The Company takes no responsibility for any accident or injury caused by defects in the user’s own equipment.
- Report all accidents, incidents or near misses to a member of staff, who will instigate the process of recording. Please comply with any processes required by The Company to document incidents in the interest of safety.
- The Company reserves the right to vacate the rink entirely, in the interest of safety, should a more serious incident occur.
